ArtBid: Art Auction Game

ArtBid is an art auction game playable as a critic and 1 to 5 collectors, competing to earn the most money and points by collecting artworks from auction and selling them to the market. The critic secretly decides on a rating pattern for all the artworks in the game (such as “warm colors” or “heavy texture”), which decides their values scaling from 100,000 to 2 million dollars, corresponding to a scale of 1 to 5 points. The players must buy low from auction (at the auction price) and sell high to the market (at the market price) to make a profit. The prices and corresponding ratings of the artworks are revealed to the collectors by the critic upon the sale of the artwork. The critic starts with less money than the collectors because the critic already knows the secret rating pattern and the ratings and market prices of individual artworks.

The game is available for purchase as a physical card game on The Game Crafter, playable as a Workshop Mod for the Tabletop Simulator on Steam, or downloadable and playable on the Apple iOS App Store as a mobile game.
