In 2024, Park picked up a 35 film SLR camera, the Leica R6.2 and the Leica 50 mm f/2 Summicron lens. The acquisition was subsequently followed by further acquisitions of the R8 and the Leicaflex SL. Film photography opened a whole new chapter in their photography, as the lack of a digital screen prevented Park from obsessing over the result and forced them to focus purely in the now. Park discovered a completely different philosophy and approach to philosophy, which is Pure Photography. Pure Photography means the minimal to zero reliance on the light meter to set the exposure.

Park altered the “Sunny F/16” rule in photography into a three-tier system of f-stops and shutter speeds, centering around the versatile ISO 400 film speed. This “revised Sunny F/16” rule helped Park achieve the goal of practicing Pure Photography as envisioned by the pioneers of Leica camera who had invented 35 mm film photography.
